Titles of independent sector specially shut mouths easily since years ago, with games that are bold in many areas. "Ohhh, that is not a game! A game is this.and this" There is no a formula type: "a Game must have x,z,r, and this, and this, and blabla." I SOMETIMES experience games as they are and let me tell you this, those are some magical moments indeed! I often pull my own ideas and such(as you can see). ![]() I also wish I could just experience the game for what it IS. I get the bare minimum and then I judge it. Unfortunately, it does not work that way. Yeah, I wish I could give in so easily and perceive first, judge second. It looks to me that you are in the same bpat along with the OP. I have put 1K hrs in games that I just had to stop playing because even though there were small things that the game failled to do I just could not go on playing it. If this is not possible then the opnly choice is to. This leads to one choice and that is to try to disscover why the game is designed the way it is and change the way you play it. Many years ago in college I took a course in how to review a presentation,(play, movie,book,etc) and the way one should do ot is not to compare it to there own standards but to present how it is presented. When they think "this should have been done to make a better game", its based off experience and usually rational thought (standards). People have every right to judge a game by their own standards of a genre it fits into. If you follow a proven formula for game development then your game should absolutely be judged how it is held up against those within that. If you judge a game merely by its presentation but not the things you like or don't like about it within an expected type of genre, what exactly does your judgement mean? Just my view on takes any game "on its own merits" unless they have never seen anything like it before. With you coments I get the idea that there is just enough the game that makes you want it to more like what you THINK it should be. PoE is a different kind of RTS qwith combat pause game and it is easy to get many posts and reviews that are negitive. ![]() We all have our own standards about everything in our lives and should realize when something does not match ore ideas on the subject. ![]() You make the mistake that many people do.
